We had a great Thanksgiving. Our friends joined us for a huge feast…we had the traditional turkey but we also enjoyed the non-traditional but historically accurate Thanksgiving lobster, ha!. Food and company was great. After the holiday we began pulling out all the Christmas decorations. The boys did the Christmas tree. We moved it from its usual location in the family room to the entry of the living room. We spend more time there and it’s nice to see the tree as we enjoy an evening coffee. It is however in a busy traffic area…which is not a problem for anyone except the dog. He doesn’t understand “slow” or “careful”. So the boys were careful to not put any important ornaments at “tail level” and to securely anchor the ones they did put there. So far the tree is holding up well under tail attack.

I took a couple of days of vacation after the weekend so that I could get the decorating done and get a head start on some baking. It was time well spent and it has really made it nice to enjoy the season without feeling a little overwhelmed.

We cut way back on the outside lights this year. John and the boys just got busy and then they got lazy, ha! I think the thought of taking it all down after the holidays was just too much for them, ha! But the house still looks nic
