ATV'ing in Big Bend

I think riding around on the ATV's was the high light of the whole trip for the boys. All three of them, ha! The guys all drove and I was the passenger on John's. I spent a lot of time holding my breath and praying, ha! Our guide, Rich, was great! He drove us up down and all around that mountain. And along the way we stopped at old mine shafts and unusal plant life. Rich was a fountain of information.


















Rich promised me that we'd be going fairly slow. He didn't want anyone launching themselves off the trail any more than I did. However, once Rich discovered that the guys had good control of their ATV's he just kept increasing the speed and letting boys be boys.

On the final stretch back I saw him have a personal conversation with each of the boys...I wondered what was up but I soon found out....on that final road back, once we where off the mountain he led the way back at speed. He told me we would not drive over 20 mph....the last glimpse I got of the speedometer we where close to 50 mpg!
Since we all got back in one piece and the guys had big smiles I decided Rich would only get a minor lecture and "a look".
