Desert Flowers-Big Bend






I've never seen so many different types of Cactus....and I've never really thought of the desert as beautiful until now

This little guy is called a resurrection plant...we were very fortunate in that it had actually rained just a little earlier that morning. The resurrections plant is closed up and looks brown and dead...until it rains. Then it opens up and is green with little white flowers. In this picture you can see that the plant is already turning brown and closing up.
This photo is of a resurrection plant still open. Who knew we'd all get such a kick out of learning about cool plants, ha!
